ABOUT THE PROJECT
Petz is a conceptual streaming platform designed specifically for animals. Inspired by my own dog, Laika, the project imagines a service similar to Netflix, but created to comfort pets when they are left alone at home. The platform offers curated audiovisual content adapted to different animals, such as dogs and cats, including familiar sounds, calm documentaries, nature visuals, and repetitive movements that animals naturally respond to.
The project was inspired by my dog Laika, an Australian Shepherd. Whenever I had to leave her alone at home, I felt a sense of guilt common to many pet owners — the feeling of abandoning a companion who depends on you. I would often leave YouTube videos playing to distract her, which led me to imagine how comforting and reassuring it would be if a dedicated streaming service for animals existed. Petz was born from this emotional experience and from the desire to ease separation anxiety for both pets and their owners.

CHALLENGES
For many pet owners, leaving home for work creates emotional discomfort and worry about their pet’s well-being. Pets can experience boredom, loneliness, or anxiety when left alone for long periods. While humans have endless entertainment options, animals are often left with little stimulation. Petz addresses this emotional and practical gap by proposing a digital solution that prioritizes the sensory and emotional needs of animals.
