ABOUT THE PROJECT
I’m currently working on a project that reimagines skateboards and surfboards as canvases for original artworks. I’ve created a series of illustrations designed to be printed, adhered to the boards, and then coated with resin. The goal is to transform functional objects into collectible, gallery-ready pieces that can be sold, exhibited, or enjoyed as unique art objects.
For this series, I focused on magical illustrations inspired by Japanese culture, particularly yokais, which are one of my favorite subjects. This project allows me to merge my passion for illustration with product design and explore how art can inhabit unexpected spaces. It’s teaching me about collaboration, sustainable production, and the technical aspects of translating flat artwork onto three-dimensional objects—while keeping the creative process at the heart of the work.

CHALLENGES
One of the main challenges is finding an ecological brand that wants to partner with me to bring these artworks to life. I also plan to expand the project by collaborating with other artists, which means balancing different artistic styles while maintaining a cohesive vision for the series. Working on boards as a medium also presents technical challenges—adapting illustrations to curved surfaces and ensuring the resin finish preserves the integrity of the designs.
